Rep. King’s amendment failed – here’s the toll call vote. Every Democrat voted against it – but it lost because 78 Republicans also went against stopping over a billion dollars in money being paid out for fraud. Two votes jumped out at me.
Tea Part favorite Allen West (R-FL) voted with the Congressional Black Caucus to keep Pigford funding flowing to fraudsters.
But worse – Darrell Issa (R-CA), who would be the one to get investigations going,
Don’t get mad — take action. Pigford needs an investigation. Darrell Issa’s office phone in Washington is 202-225-3906. I want to here what they have to say in comments.

I admit, this vote has me confused as well … simply by looking at the four Republicans from my state, Washington.
Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Jamie Herrera Butler – two Tea Party conservatives – voted with the likes of Jim McDermott (gasp), Norm Dicks, Rick Larson, Jay Inslee and Adam Smith.
Doc Hastings (a conservative) and Dave Reichert (a moderate) voted Yes.
I don’t get it.

Almost inexplicably my R congressman voted against the King amendment. After my call to his office to ask him to vote yes, I will certainly be following up by email to find out why he voted no. Did King have time to make his case and to be sure everybody understood what was happening here? Was there any debate?
Lee, I called, and a real person answered, asked me where I was calling from. I told him where (not in Cali) and I was immediately put through to voice mail. If I would have said I was from his district, perhaps I would have stayed with the real person. I don’t know. Any way I still left a message expressing my disgust.
