The Neal Rauhauser + Matt Osborne Connection Matt Didn’t Mention

I just want to connect a couple of dots here, especially in light of a piece that liberal blogger Matt Osborne wrote a few days ago defending Kimberlin-connected dirty trickster Neal Rauhauser entitled Is the World’s Longest-Running Performance Art Piece Finally Ending?Osborne says:

Indeed, all kinds of people can be “linked” to Neal Rauhauser. He is an activist who talks to a lot of other activists a lot of the time. Right wing bloggers have gone so far as to infiltrate progressive groupspurloin images of emails, and publish them to connect as many people as possible to Rauhauser. The net always grows larger. Even progressives who personally loathe him are accused of being his accomplices in a vast criminal conspiracy.

That might have been a good time for Matt Osborne to admit that he was an editor at a project that Rauhauser co-founded called Progressive Congress News, as you can see by looking at their web page.

Full disclosure : as I’ve mentioned before, I knew Matt Osborne a little when I was on the left and blogging with Bob Cesca.

Matt’s post also doesn’t mention that @Shoq had Neal Rauhauser doing detective work for him on the “Randy Hahn” story. Matt has written a number of pieces — like this one and this one — that seem like disinformation to get @Shoq off the hook and now he’s done one to spread disinfo about Neal Rauhauser, who he apparently knows — but failed to mention.

Osborne finishes with a planative plea for pity for Neal Rauhauser:

Neal Rauhauser has been playing this game all by himself for two years. That’s impressive; even The Mahabharata is generally performed in eleven hours, and there have now been two runs of the Tour de France since Twittergate. Lately, however, Rauhauser’s closest friends say he has grown tired of the whole business. He has been in poor health and dire economic straits for years, and reportedly wishes to become an anonymous citizen again.

Of course, that’s not true.

Rauhauser spend time last September and October traveling to different cities where the Occupy movement was getting underway. Neal even took time to send me a vaguely threatening email after I mentioned that Brandon Darby and I were going go to go to Zuccotti. Neal was at Brett Kimberlin’s hearing in  Maryland a couple fo weeks ago, somehow feeling well enough help Brett out. Neal is still quite active and Osborne knows it.

Matt Osborne isn’t honest about Neal and he wasn’t honest by not disclosing this connection to Neal Rauhauser.  And who’s helping spread this disinformation about Neal as truth? This screencap is from Matt’s blog and shows who RTd.

That’s @OccupyRebellion 3x. (More about her here.) and @Shoq twice. Because…yeah.

Thanks for the article. It provides information that clears up quite a few things.

  2. Nice try, Lee. Even Jay Batman saw right through this one in his parody blog of Bayne. Volunteer “editors” at PCN spend 5-15 minutes a day putting open source links into newsfeeds. I have never colluded with Rauhauser, who was never all too important to PCN in the first place. He was never in charge of me in any way, either. And why wouldn’t those people tweet a blog post that unravels why you and other Breitbloggers are trying to “out” them and connect them to absurd conspiracy theories? Did you check Facebook to see who shared it there? Really, you should take the time to see HOW DEEP TEH CONSPIRACIEZ GO.

As for Occupy: I took part in a couple of local Occupy events myself. No one, particularly Neal Rauhauser, is in charge of Occupy. Back in the Zuccotti Park days, decisions required 90% approval by the General Assembly. Occupy cannot be both an anarchist movement AND a centrally-planned James Bond plot. Moreover, Rauhauser always inflates whatever role he actually plays in everything he does. He’s been doing that since Twittergate. You are still falling for it.

You keep trying to “out” people who have done nothing wrong, and in pursuit of a guy who’s been playing right wing bloggers for fools since 2010. Elvis was an impersonator, he has left the building, and you are setting fire to the theatre; I am watching on closed circuit television and eating popcorn, because this reminds me a little bit of Inglourious Basterds.
