On Big Government last night, I released information about a video I discovered online that provides some real insight into the Occupy Wall Street movement. You should watch the entire video if you can but let me highlight one of the more chilling parts – and this is important, I think, because I believe few people are really seeing the #OWS movement and the threat it is.
If you don’t believe that the #Occupy people want a violent revolution, just listen to Malcolm, who starts speaking about six minutes and 25 seconds into this clip. (Keep reading for a transcript.)
Who is this nebbish nutball and what does he have to do with #OccupyWallStreet? Here’s Malcolm Harris’s biography from the Jacobin website..
Malcolm Harris is the managing editor of The New Inquiry, a contributing editor at Sharable.net, and blogs for Jacobin. He edited the collection “Share or Die: Youth in Recession,” forthcoming from New Society Publishers in the spring. He has been active in OWS since the first planning meetings
Harris reveals why you should be worried about #Occupy Wall Street. This is my transcript of Harris from this section of the video.
That’s one side of what people want, right, cause that’s not the only thing people want. they also want to take the bank out of his fucking tower and string him up in the public square.. That’s not that’s not just the crazy left, that’s everyday folks talking about their experiences.
This is America, right? We want to talk about ‘We’re the 99%” as if we’re also not the 99% who also loves Transformers 4, right? As if this is the 99% who also doesn’t feel passionate anger. “All we want is our little appropriate piece of the pie and we just want to be friendly.“
And the capitalists know that’s not the case. If you want to read what the capitalists think about this you can go and look at what Glenn Beck says. He’s got a better analysis than most people on the left have about where this can go and how threaten—
(There’s a cut here in the original video. It seems to continue about Beck.)
…one of those fortunetellers who 99% of the time is just totally bullshitting everyone should and 1% of the time his eyes roll back in his head and he’s got some divine insight.
”It’s the coming insurrection. I’ve been reading these French guys.”
So what is Beck’s ‘divine insight’ that is ‘better analysis than most people on the left have about where this can go’?
Judging by the context of the statements, it could be this quote from Beck that got some press just 4 days before this panel was held. Here’s what Glenn Beck said about where the #Occupy movement could go…
“Capitalists, if you think that you can play footsie with these people, you are wrong. They will come for you and drag you into the streets and kill you. They will do it. They’re not messing around. Those in the media – and I am included in this – they will drag us out into the streets and kill us. If you’re wealthy, they will kill you for what you have. You cannot tolerate this kind of stuff. You certainly do not encourage it.”
Mediaite scoffs at this notion of Becks’ but the people on the ground who are part of #Occupy Wall Street didn’t scoff. They think Beck has got it right. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

When the rule of law has failed and justice is circumvented by expensive, clever lawyers, the rich and powerful should be afraid. We all know half of Wall Street should have been shut down, thousands should have gone to jail, and the Federal Reserve reappropriated by the American people. If you didn’t know, the Federal Reserve is controlled by European bankers and it has been manipulated by them ever since President Roosevelt.
As President Abraham Lincoln once said:
You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.
The problem with Wall Street etcetera is that their greed led them to take scandalous and unconscionable risks: trying to fool all of the people all of the time.
Wall Street, financial institutions, and the Federal Reserve put the welfare, peace, and state of our nation at terrible risk.
So I have a problem with Lee pretending not to see what’s wrong with America. If America has anything to be very afraid of. It’s people like Lee who don’t see any problems. There’s way too many people walking around and looking down at their shoes. Because they losing all sense of self respect.
Don’t misunderstand me, I kinda like Lee Stranahan. I wouldn’t like to see Lee Stranahan strung up from a limb of the tree of liberty. [grin]
I do not believe, however, that Malcolm Harris is something to be afraid of. At least not when he’s writing a mixed review of a Zombie novel.
