Government Spending Unpopular Worldwide

While the MSM would like you believe that only wacked out fife playing Tea Partiers are concerned about excessive government spending and out-of-control debt, ain’t so according to this chart from The Economist – just compare us to countries like Portugal, Spain and even (dare I say) France.

They do point out…

The poll shows clear support for austerity over stimulus in the rich world. That may be because announced austerity plans have yet to kick in: Britain is an exception to this, and there views seem to be more finely balanced.

It’s that’ number on the far right of the chart that should give pause – it’s debt as a percentage of GDP. Run those numbers.
