A private email from 2010 shows that National Right to Work Vice President and then Rand Paul advisor Doug Stafford asked a colleague who’d met recently Speaker of the House John Boehner “Was he sober?”
The query from Stafford came from his official NRTW email and was CC’d to National Right to Work President Mark Mix. There is no indication that Rand Paul was aware of the email.
Stafford went on to become Rand Paul’s Chief of Staff when he was elected to the Senate and currently heads Rand PAC.
Stafford also oversaw the National Right to Work’s massive, questionably legal lection mail program that helped elect dozens of candidates in states like Montana, Iowa, Indiana, New Hampshire, Colorado, and Nevada.
